It can be used to tighten or loosen the screw as well. Flat head screwdriver is hard to turn the screw with quarter inch wide head. The thickness of the slot of the screw and the thickness of the screwdriver should match. The perfect match of thickness enables you tighten it tightly.
For a US 3-prong plug, a smaller slot should be hot, the longer slot should be neutral, and the screw that holds the plate on should be ground. Cheap, inexpensive testers are available at hardware stores.
Using a screwdriver that is smaller than the screw's head can lead to several issues. It may slip out of the screw's slot, causing damage to the screw and making it difficult to turn. Additionally, applying too much force can strip the screw, rendering it unusable. For optimal results, it's essential to use the correct size screwdriver to ensure a secure fit and prevent damage.

This procedure will work on pretty much any stripped bolts and screws : get a Dremmel Tool with a thin round disk and make a slot on the screw. Next get a chisel and a small hammer and slowly tap on one end of the slot (the direction the screw comes loose - which is counter clockwise). After you see the screw breaking loose, get a slotted screwdriver and take the screw out. With a little patience you'll succeed. Promise !
I do not know what you mean by long slot. The bare ground copper wire connects to the green screw or the ground screw. The black wire attaches to the copper or gold colored screw and the white wire connects to the silver or chrome screw. Both the gold and silver screws are on the side of the outlet. The ground screw will be on one end of the outlet.
There are two air bleed valves on this model. One is located on the thermostat housing and it is a small brass screw with a screwdriver slot and ridged edges. The second is located on the coolant bypass tube. It is the connected to the black metal tube that runs along the valve cover from the water pump to underneath the throttle intake body. The valve tube is about the size of a pack of life savers and stands vertically. It has a brass screw at the top and is (I believe) an 8mm. This is not slotted and is an octagon.

To remove a snapped screw effectively, you can try using a screw extractor tool or drilling a small hole into the screw and using a screwdriver to turn it out. Another option is to use a Dremel tool to carefully cut a slot into the screw head and then use a flathead screwdriver to remove it. Remember to apply lubricant or penetrating oil to help loosen the screw before attempting to remove it.
To successfully remove a stripped screw, you can try using a rubber band, a screw extractor tool, or drilling a small hole into the screw head to create a new groove for a screwdriver. Another option is to use a hammer and chisel to create a new slot for a screwdriver. Be patient and apply steady pressure while turning the screw counterclockwise to loosen and remove it.
