There are two types of voltage:

1. AC

2. DC

It's hard to answer what 'Types' of voltage there are. It is measured in volts and can span anywhere from zero to almost infinity.

Useable voltages can be roughly zoned.

From zero up to 1 volt. = Signal voltage.

1.5v to 36v = Low voltage for electronics and consumer items.

48v to 240v = High voltage for domestic applications in the home.

280 to 512v = High voltage used for industrial machines.

1KV to 400Kv= Very high voltage for transmission over distance.

AC (Alternating current) is made using a spinning generator. It is the only type of current that can be transformed easily from one volktage to another using a transformer.

DC (Direct current) is normally made using batteries, but can also be made using a generator with a commutator and brush gear.

Very hard to change voltage, but useful at low voltages for electronics.

What are the three kinds of switching mechanism used in low voltage?

Transistors, relays, and triacs.

How many kinds of voltage ssource?

There are primarily two types of voltage sources: DC (Direct Current) voltage sources and AC (Alternating Current) voltage sources. DC sources provide a constant voltage over time, commonly found in batteries and solar cells. AC sources, on the other hand, supply voltage that varies sinusoidally with time, typically seen in wall outlets and generators. Additionally, voltage sources can be classified as ideal or practical, with ideal sources having no internal resistance and practical sources having some resistance.

What are the two basic categories of transmission?

The two basic categories of transmission are:High voltage transmission andLow voltage transmission.

What is the effects of more than one voltage source in a network?

Two voltage sources in series can either add up or cancel out depending on which way round they are orientated. If the two positive or the two negative terminals are connected together, the overall voltage is the subtraction of the two. If the positive terminal from one supply is connected to the negative terminal from another, the overall voltage is the sum of the two.

How many kinds of emitter?

There are primarily two types of emitters: current emitters and voltage emitters. Current emitters provide a constant current output, while voltage emitters maintain a constant voltage. Additionally, in the context of semiconductor devices, there are specific types such as bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and field-effect transistors (FETs) that have their own emitter configurations. Each emitter type serves different applications in electronic circuits.
