A feature control frame describes a geometric tolerance on an engineering drawing. Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing is defined by the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard. A feature control frame is basically a rectangle divided into several segments, in the following order:

1 - A geometric characteristic symbol (specifying what the tolerance type is, such as parallelism, position, surface profile, runout, etc.)

2 - The tolerance

3 - Up to three frames (if applicable) of the datums to which the tolerance is related to. Some tolerances (such as flatness) do not relate back to any datums.

Is bit stuffing needed for the control field as in case of address data and FCS fields of the HDLC frame?

Yes, bit stuffing is needed for the control field in HDLC frames, similar to the address and Frame Check Sequence (FCS) fields. Bit stuffing is used to prevent the occurrence of specific bit patterns, such as the frame delimiter (0x7E), within the data fields, including the control field. By inserting a '0' after a sequence of five consecutive '1's, bit stuffing ensures that the frame remains distinguishable and can be correctly framed during transmission and reception.

What is the purpose of the Watchdog Timer feature of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)?

The Watchdog Timer feature in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) serves to monitor the execution of the control program and ensure system reliability. It detects failures or malfunctions by resetting the PLC if the program does not complete its cycle within a predefined time frame. This mechanism helps prevent system hang-ups or unresponsive states, ensuring consistent operation and enhancing safety in automated processes. If the timer expires, it typically triggers a fault condition or system reset to restore normal functionality.

Definition of frame in visual basic?

When you want to group several controls together - name and address, for example - you use a Frame. The frame backcolor can be the same as the form's and only the frame borders will be obvious, or it can be a different color and stand out.You create the frame before the controls. When you create controls in a frame, they are tied to the frame and move with it. The frame caption is the text that appears at the top of the frame - you use it to define the group.
