Breaking of protocol into different fragments in order to identify the network in simplified manner by establishing a virtual subnet for a particular group of computers to the main server in a big network of computers.
194.117.0.0 . Because it is a class C IP address.
16 bits example class b: nnn.nnn.0.0 - nnn.nnn.255.255 subnetmask: 255.255.0.0 example class c (8 bits): nnn.nnn.nnn.0 - nnn.nnn.nnn.255 subnetmask: 255.255.255.0 exaple class a (24 bits): nnn.0.0.0 - nnn.255.255.255 subnetmask: 255.0.0.0
A broadcast network use to advertise the subnetmask of a particuler network
this is a class c network address and the subnet mask is by default 255.255.255.0 or /24
255.255.248.0
Good question - I think the best reason is that you can move nodes between networks by changing the configuration at the switch. With different subnets you may have to physically move the device to get it into another subnet.
You can't find the gateway or any other address in a subnet mask; the subnet mask is used to separate the parts of an address - the network id part and the host id part. Look at other settings for the gateway, such as ipconfig or ifconfig
right click on my network , select property, again right click on the icon, select internet protocol tcp/ip, click on use the ip address and give the ip address & subnetmask u want , click apply and ok. now ip address will be change.
Presuming that the objective is to find the longest mask with a non-zero host portion, consider 180, which is 0b10110100. 5 bits would be the longest possible mask, so a /29 (24+5) would be the longest legal mask. /30 would have the host number as zero which is not allowed.
The subnet mask helps determine which part of an IP address represents the network and which part represents the host. It is used by devices to identify whether an IP address is within the same network or needs to be routed to a different network. By using the subnet mask, devices can correctly send data to the intended destination within a network.
RARP help the PC to find its MAC address in the same network from the RARP Server.RARP Serveronly providethe IP adress to the PC by remembering its MAC.DHCP works on the same way but DHCP Server provide the PC its IP address, Subnetmask, Default Gateway and DNS Server etc...So the big difference is DHCP provide more information than your RARP Server.
Hi Friend, i Think that there is a problem in question or i am not aware about it, becoz first octate should fill first so it would be 255.255.225.0, when 2 octate will full then u can reach on third octate. if we leave first octate on 225, it means it doesn't cover all ip of A class, so it can't move further. if there is any update, then plz mail me @ mohitdns@AOL.in Thanks Mohit Sharma
