The phantom loading is that no external load is connected in actual sense and the current and pressure coils are connected seperatly so that it will consume only less power. In this connection the voltage across pressure coil will be supply voltage even if the variac is in minimum position. CONNECTION Connect a single phase supply through a single phase variac. Connect the currect coil of wattmeter M and energy meter c1 and an ammeter in series to phase terminal of singlephase variac. The pressure coil of both wattmeter and energymeter should be shorted and connected to phase of supply (not to the variac). The terminal V of wattmeter and p2, c2 of energy meter should be connected to neutral terminal of variac. PROCEDURE Keeping the variac in minimum position and switch on supply. Adjust the variac to get different reading in ammeter and note the time for 5 Revolution of energy meter disc and obtain the wattmeter reading. FORMULAE %error = (R.E - A.E)*100/A.E , WHERE, R.E is the recorded energy = n/N (n=5 & N=energymeter const.) A.E is the actual energy A.E= (wattmeter reading*time)/(3600*1000) while plotting a error graph it will be having a zig-zag shape. Normally the error can be upto 10%

How do you set up a phantom power supply for a condenser microphone?

To set up a phantom power supply for a condenser microphone, first ensure that the microphone is compatible with phantom power (typically 48V). Connect the microphone to the input of the phantom power supply using an XLR cable. Then, connect the output of the phantom power supply to your audio interface or mixer, also using an XLR cable. Finally, turn on the phantom power on the supply to provide the necessary voltage for the microphone to operate.

What are the factors which influence the choice of specific magnetic and electric loadings of a synchronous machine?

The magnetic loading and electrical loading is most important parameter in the electrical machine. the electrical machine's torque is define as T=winding factor*electrical loading*magnetic loading*rotor volume You can see that the magnetic loading can decide electrical machines volume so this parameter is important.

What is torsional loading?

Torsional loading refers to the application of a twisting force or torque on an object, causing it to twist around its longitudinal axis. This type of loading is commonly encountered in structural components like shafts, beams, and mechanical parts. When subjected to torsional loading, materials experience shear stress and strain, which can lead to deformation or failure if the applied torque exceeds the material's strength. Understanding torsional loading is crucial in engineering to ensure the integrity and performance of rotational systems.

What is the difference between between direct loading and phantom loading?

In phantom loading, less power is consumed as the current and voltage coils are connected seperately;but in direct loading a load is connected which draw a considerable power.

What is the difference between direct loading and phantom loading?

Phantom loading consits of supplying the pressure circuit from a seperate low voltage supply. It s possible to circulate rated current through the curent circuit with a low voltage supply as the impedance of this is very low. therfore the total power required for testing the meter is compartively smal with phantom loading.

What is phantom load?

Phantom loading is the power supply being used in your home that you do not think about or realize. This power consumption is the result of items in the home that are kept on standby.

How phantom loading method asked in practical exam?

In a practical exam, the phantom loading method is typically demonstrated by connecting a load to a circuit to evaluate voltage or current behavior without actually drawing power. This method helps in analyzing the effects of inductance and capacitance on the system. Students may be asked to set up the circuit, apply a theoretical load, and measure relevant parameters using appropriate instruments. The results are then analyzed to understand the circuit's performance under phantom loading conditions.
