A technical certificate is the 'taught' element of a qualification generally delivered in a college or training environment. The NVQ is work based assessment. Normally within apprenticeship frameworks you would be taught the technical element and then assessed on whether you can implement it in the work place.
Id recommend trying to read and understand the questions in your NVQ assessment paperwork before copying and pasting the questions here
18. Component Description and applicationRelay Relays are a special type of switch which is turned on and off by an electromagnet. When a current flows through the coil an electro-magnetic field is set up. The field attracts an iron armature, whose other end pushes the contacts together, completing the circuit. When the current is switched off, the contacts open again, switching the circuit off.A useful property of relays is that the circuit powering the coil is completely separate from the circuit switched on by the relay. For this reason relays are often used where a safe low-voltage circuit is being used to control a high-voltage circuit.Contactor A contactor is an electrically controlled switch used for switching a power circuit. A contactor is activated by a control input which is a lower voltage / current than that which the contactor is switching. Unlike general-purpose relays, contactors are designed to be directly connected to high-current load devices, not other control devicesCapacitor Capacitors store and discharge electrical current. They're made from 2 parallel metal plates separated by an insulator (dielectric) applications include;Smoothing rectified alternating current voltages into steady direct current voltagesBlocking direct current signals whilst allowing alternating signals to passFiltering out unwanted portions of a fluctuating signalTiming applicationsStoring charge to keep a transistor turned on or offSensor A sensor is a type of transducer. There is a massive range of sensors Direct-indicating sensors, for example, a mercury thermometer, are human-readable. Other sensors, such as thermocouples, only produce an output voltage or other electrical output which must be interpreted by another device (such as a computer).Resistor Resistors resist or 'slow down' the current in a circuit by acting against the flow of electrons.hope this helps your NVQ work
To qualify as an Electrician, a Level 3 Technical Certificate must be achieved. AM2 practical test and NVQ Level 3 are also required. You can then be graded as an Electrician.
To obtain a lost NVQ certificate, you should first contact the awarding body that issued the original certificate. They may require you to complete a request form and provide identification or other relevant details. Some awarding bodies may charge a fee for reissuing the certificate. It’s also advisable to check their website for specific procedures regarding lost certificates.
There are two main ways of becoming a lighting technician. You could either qualify as an electrician or get practical experience in production lighting, or you could take a technical theatre course at college or university. Currently, to qualify as an electrician you will need either: · NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electro-technical Services (Electrical Maintenance) or · NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Installing Electro-technical Systems and Equipment (Buildings and Structures).
An ordinary degree is equivalent to NVQ 4 and an Honours degree to NVQ 5.
An NVQ Level 2 is equivalent to a GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) at grade A*-C in the UK education system. It represents a qualification that demonstrates the ability to work in a specific role with a certain level of proficiency and knowledge. NVQ Level 2 focuses on practical skills and competencies in the workplace, making it suitable for those entering or progressing in their chosen field.
The equivalent of NVQ Level 4 in the US is generally considered to be a combination of an associate degree and some work experience or a bachelor's degree with a focus on vocational or technical training. NVQ Level 4 represents a higher education qualification that often involves supervisory or management responsibilities. In the US, this level of qualification can also align with certain certifications or credentials in specific industries.
Most colleges offer courses in NVQ 1,2 and 3 in nail technology, many courses run side by side with hair dressing and make-up technology. To be a basis nail technician you would need an NVQ 1 certificate.
NVQ level 2, NVQ level 3, NVQ level 4, health and Social Care
If you wish to advance to NVQ 3 Social Care or NVQ 4 Social Care Management the the answers can be found here:www.nvq-help.comwww.nvq-answers.com
An NVQ Level 4 in Management is equivalent to a higher education qualification, such as a foundation degree or a higher national certificate (HNC). It demonstrates a level of competence in managing teams and projects, focusing on skills such as leadership, strategic planning, and operational management. This qualification is aimed at individuals in supervisory or management roles who are looking to enhance their professional development.
With an NVQ Level 3, you may be qualified to work in certain teaching or training roles, particularly in vocational settings or as a support worker. However, to teach independently, especially in formal educational institutions, you typically need a higher qualification, such as a Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training or a relevant degree. Additionally, teaching often requires specific skills and knowledge beyond the NVQ Level 3. It’s best to check the specific requirements for the teaching position or environment you are interested in.
NVQ 2 is a Health and Social Care adults course in the medical field.
