Pre-cast concretes are manufactured in a pre-cast plant or on site (tilted-up construction). Cast in steel moulds with precise dimension. Very good quality control. Delivered and erected on site.
Cast in-situ are constructed on site using fresh concrete from trucks and placed by workers. Quality Control is the responsibility of the site manager.
✅ Precast Concrete Specifically refers to concrete elements that are cast in a reusable mold in a factory or controlled environment, then cured, transported, and assembled on-site. Examples include precast wall panels, beams, columns, stairs, and bridge segments. The key point is the casting process happens before arriving on-site. ✅ Prefabricated Concrete This is a broader term that describes any concrete component manufactured off-site and transported for installation. Precast concrete is actually a subcategory of prefabrication. “Prefabricated” may also include other materials combined with concrete (like precast concrete panels with insulation layers or modular concrete units). In simpler terms: Precast = concrete poured into molds off-site. Prefabricated = any concrete elements built off-site, including precast products and some modular concrete systems.

With concrete and precast concrete you can build fences, walls, concrete sound walls, pre-cast concrete perimeter walls, masonry walls, masonry screen walls and more! If you are interested in having a concrete or precast fence, perimeter, sound wall, masonry wall or masonry screen wall, then go to the links below for more information. Well you can make walls, houses, bricks and so on.
Mass concrete is concrete cast without Rebars. They are good in compression and are mostly used for the construction of gravity structures such as Dams. While reinforced concrete have reinforcement bars in them, which increases the tensile strenght of the concrete.
A precast concrete panel is a structural or architectural component that is manufactured by casting concrete in a reusable mold or formwork in a controlled factory environment. Once the concrete has cured to the desired strength, the panel is transported to the construction site and installed into place. Precast concrete panels come in various shapes, sizes, and finishes. They are commonly used for walls, floors, facades, and even structural systems in buildings and infrastructure projects. Because they are produced off-site, these panels ensure higher quality control, consistent strength, and smoother surfaces compared to on-site casting. One of the key advantages of precast panels is their speed of construction. Since manufacturing and site preparation can occur simultaneously, project timelines are significantly reduced. Additionally, precast panels offer excellent durability, fire resistance, and thermal insulation. They can also be customized with different textures, colors, and embedded materials to achieve aesthetic requirements. Overall, precast concrete panels are a reliable, efficient, and versatile solution for modern construction, combining structural integrity with design flexibility.

becos precast girders are not cast in -site and therefore faster. they also available in standard size.

It means "Cast In Place". This is like when you form concrete and place it in liquid form. This is opposite of "Precast" which means that it is formed some place else and moved to its final location after it hardens.

NO.GFRC stands for glass fiber reinforced concrete. Precast is concrete (typically reinforced with steel) poured at a factory (rather than cast at the job site)For GFRC information see http:/www.strombergarchitectural.com/materials/gfrc for gfrc guidebooks, technical information etc.
Precast concrete is concrete that is cast and cured in a controlled factory environment using reusable molds, rather than being poured and formed on the construction site. In this process, the concrete is mixed, placed into specific molds or formwork, compacted, and allowed to cure under controlled conditions to achieve the desired strength and quality. Once the elements are hardened and ready, they are transported to the project site and assembled into the structure. Precast concrete is used to produce a wide range of components, including: Wall panels Beams and columns Floors and slabs Staircases Bridge segments Because it is manufactured off-site, precast concrete offers higher quality control, faster installation, and consistent finishes compared to traditional site-cast concrete. It is known for its durability, versatility, and efficiency, making it a popular choice in modern construction.
A simple explanation: PRE tensioned- cables are tensioned, and the concrete is cast around it. The tensioning is done BEFORE casting the concrete (PRE = before). POST tensioned- cables are placed inside of ducts or are greased to prevent bonding to the concrete, the concrete is cast around the cables, and then the cables are tensioned after the concrete has reached a desired strength. The tensioning is done AFTER the concrete is cast (POST = after).
You can buy concrete precast materials from Home Depot. Other stores that sell them include Ideal True Value Home Center and New Jersey Wholesale Supply.
