In order to have a career in computer programming you must know how computers work, their logic (binary logic) and ofcourse at least one mainstream programming language. The most used computer programming languages are C++ and C#. The C++ language is more powrfull and gives more capabitilies of interacting with the H/Y, while C# is far more easy for the novice user while being as powerful as C++.
Computer science uses a lot of math. However, any science can help by training the mind in logical thinking. English (or whatever language your output will be in) is important because people reading a menu on a program that is poorly worded or has misspellings will often choose a different program. In general, any other subject can help simply by giving you a wider perspective on life, which will allow for a wider perspective to be applied to programming.
