Is a switch a resistor?

It could act as one when the circuit is closed, but when the circuit is open, I believe you would define the air as the thing resisting current. In basic circuit problems the switch usually doesn't have any resistance of its own (ie as negligible as the resistance in a wire, so it is ignored).

How was the french resistance successful?

The French Resistance was successful due to its ability to mobilize diverse groups against Nazi occupation, including civilians, workers, and communists, who conducted sabotage operations, gathered intelligence, and facilitated the escape of Allied soldiers. Their efforts disrupted German supply lines and communication, significantly aiding the Allied forces during World War II. Additionally, the Resistance played a crucial role in the liberation of France by coordinating with Allied troops during the D-Day invasion and subsequent operations. Their resilience and commitment to freedom inspired widespread support and contributed to the ultimate defeat of Nazi Germany.

What were the resistance and what did they do?

The resistance generally refers to groups and movements that opposed occupying forces or oppressive regimes, particularly during World War II. Notably, the French Resistance fought against Nazi occupation through sabotage, intelligence gathering, and supporting Allied forces.
