I just inherited my Dads J.C. Higgins Model 50 583.91 and I can remember saving my money,along with my brothers,and mother to get him that gun. We bought it in 1950 for 88.00 dollars, To answer your question ,no it did not have any frills no engraving no cheek plate,it didnt even have a recoil pad.
