IAS is one of the services getting recruited through civil services examination(CSE) conduct by UPSC. Everybody who qualified finally at CSE get foundation training usually of 3 months at Lal Bahadur Shastry National Academy of Administration(LBSNAA),Mussoorie. After this training, trainess of all other cadres like IPS,IRS etc sent for their respective training institute like for IPS- SVP Police Academy, Hyderabad etc. But IAS trainees continue at LBSNAA till one year. In the next year of training which is actually on job training they go for their respective cadres(States or UT) and continue for one year. So in total IAS get training for 2 years, 1st year at LBSNAA and 2nd year on Job. As soon as they finish it they probabtion also get over.
