Using DCSP when welding thin material causes more heat to be concentrated in the electrode than in the base metal. This prevents the arc from burning thru thin materials before the electrode melts.
yes Electrode Positive is the same as Reverse Polarity
smaw welding is sheilded metal arc welding
Reversing polarity is not possible with an ac motor. Some do have wiring that will allow you to change rotation. The type and model of the motor can tell you if it is reversible.

by changing the polarity of capacitor of single phase ceiling fan can we change the direction of rotation from anticlockwise to clockwise
yes Electrode Positive is the same as Reverse Polarity
Yes!
Think of Polarity as water flow in a pipe. Reverse Polarity means the flow is from the work to the machine. Straight Polarity is flow from the machine to the work. Heat is released when the flow tries to jump the gap. So in Reverse Polarity (where most SMAW is done) the heat builds up in the base metal which is usually thicker than the Electrode. The extra heat there helps melt the base metal. Straight polarity is usually employed when welding thin metals.

no it cannot
How is heat created in a chemical reaction? you say; It is created from bonds cracking. Each bond has large energy, when it cracks, releases its energy. We know that when friction accurse there is a release of electrons. We also know that the release will cause a polarity change or change in polarity intensity. Is this change, not the same as the change taking place in the chemical reaction? Is it not polarity that bounds atoms? I THINK..... the answer is the same in both cases. change in polarity, intensity or the release of electrons. MY name is JACK D PRESNULL. The polarity of an electromagnet is determined by the direction of the electric current flowing through the wire coil. Reversing the direction of the current will change the polarity of the electromagnet.
The minimum thickness for SMAW welding is about 18 ga. with a steady hand.
As we touch an ac supply in which due to body resistance , we create a phase difference between the ac supply and us . As ac reverses polarity , so do we , but our polarity change is opposite to that of the polarity change of ac supply , hence our body gets attracted to the ac supply .
Advantage of smaw :*equipment is relatively inexpensive Equipment is portable because the welding machine can be powered with gasoline or diesel powered w/ engines.
The difference in the ac/ dc , or polarity of welding rods is in the makeup of the flux coating , or the alloy of the metal, and in the case of SMAW ( Shielded metal arc welding ) rods , which have a flux coating, are usually marked on the base of the rod.
