Personally, I don't think crap is a bad word. I guess it depends who you say it to. If it's someone who never uses swear word ask them if it is or just don't say it at all. But honestly I don't think you'll go the hell if you say it so don't stress over it.

∙ 11y agoIt depends. In Victorian times "legs" was a naughty word. Anything can be a naughty word if you want it to be.
"Crap" as a word for excrement comes from Thomas Crapper, inventor of an efficient flush toilet and manufacturer of the same. So people would say "I'm going to use the Crapper", and from this the word crap was derived. Sort of the same way googling became a word.
As words for excrement go, "crap" is pretty mild, and can be used for extended meanings in ways that "poo" cannot.
