The word 'crap' came from England [UK] as a euphemism for the word 's--t'.

In Queen Victoria's reign, a one Thomas Crapper, invented the first system for flushing toilets. It was a gravity cistern made of cast-iron mounted approx 5 feet above the ceramic basin. It had a chain hanging from a lever, which when pulled, flushed the toilet basin.

Thomas Crapper's name was moulded in the cast for all to see, hence when one needed to defecate, one would say that they needed to go to the 'Crapper', later abbreviated to ' going for a, or have a crap'. The term is still used to this day.
