Uranus threw the Cyclops and Hecatonchires into Tartarus, the deepest part of the underworld, because he feared their power and strength.
Uranus feared the power and strength of the Cyclops and Hecatonchires, so he imprisoned them in Tartarus to prevent them from overthrowing him. This act angered his wife Gaia, who later helped their son Cronus overthrow Uranus and free the Cyclops and Hecatonchires.

The giant children of Uranus and Gaea were the Hecatonchires.
Gaia's Hecatonchires (or Hekatonkheires) were Cottus, Briareos and Gyges.
The committed no crimes. They were imprisoned in Tartarus because their father, Ouranos, didn't like their monstrous appearance.
The Hecatonchires (hundred-handed sons of Gaia) and the Cyclopes made them in return for being released from Tartarus.
Cronus didn't hide any children. It was his father, Uranus, who hid Cronus' brothers, Hecatonchires and Cyclopes.
In Greek mythology, Tartarus was a place where the most wicked beings and Titans were imprisoned. It was a deep, dark pit beneath the earth where monsters and villains such as the Titans, Sisyphus, Tantalus, and Ixion were said to be punished for their crimes against the gods.
A Hecatonchires named Briarious born from the same parents as the Titans with a hundred hands and fifty heads. He is one of three Hectonchires Zeus saves from Tartarus to help overthrow Cronus. He isn't an Olympian per say, but immortal none the less. As such, he was never worshiped. Scholars sometimes think that the Hecatonchires were supposed to be an early mythological cause of earthquakes.
