The three types of expository leads are quotes, sayings and questions.
A narrative text and an expository text can both describe events or ideas. However, the expository text is geared towards explaining or breaking down the ideas. Narrative text just objectively relays information.

'Description Text' is a phrase used by very young English 'Teachers' whose poor education has not included the word 'expository'. Expository dialogue is speech between characters describing something. Expository text is simple narrative describing something from the author's point of view.
Expository text features tells if the text is real or not. Here is 1 example: "The Wizard Of Oz" is fake because you can not tap your shoes 3 times to go home. Here is #2: "Louisa" is a biography because she was a writer for books like "Little Women". Here is #3: "Ms. Todd Is Odd" is about what it is called.
