The noun 'galaxies' is a common noun, the plural form for the singular noun 'galaxy', a word for any galaxies of any kind.

A proper noun is the name of a specific person, place, thing, or a title; for example:

  • Rue des Galaxies, Montpellier, France
  • Galaxy Street, Houston, TX or Galaxy Street, Victorville, CA
  • Galaxies Beauty (salon), Denver, CO
  • "Galaxies Like Grains of Sand", a novel by Brian W. Aldiss

The galaxies is a common noun because there are many kinds of galaxies in the space and we can find it easy because if anything is a common noun so it starts with capital letter only and if we talk about proper noun so the first letter of it would be capitalized like- Red Fort, Taj Mahal etc. And common noun- dress, ball, boy, girl etc.
