I can tell you this, if you want to really get stuck in crypticland, the new gm (global) is implementing gms, using s.w.e. with the t.i.p. board and 5s and the biq, ci, pi. slt,std using osc's with their s.t.a.r. and qnpm process. Now i could not tell you how so very many more of those ("shorts", I call them") are in use i just know i didn't even have to use the Rosetta stone to learn a new language!!(msotly i am not being feceious(?). and it is something EVERY day.. have a good day HAGD..Answer

There have been many GM Acronym lists, most are internal to the company. There is a GM caveat in the writer's manual that "everything you write, record or copy is subject to summons by an outside entity" This is like Miranda for documents.

Things get more complicated when you consider that there are acronyms and initialisms: CO is an initialism for Carbon Monoxide.

The other caveat is that all GM employes should sing from the same songbook of acronyms and initialisms as this reduces confusion down the line. I suspect that the master list gets updated through Service Bulletins which are sent to Mr Goodwrench where ever he is.

My personal favorite GM aconym is TLA which is of course "Three Letter Acronym"

Unless you can find a list on the internet, ask the service manager at a GM Dealer for the meaning of a troublesome acronym. He/she might have a set of them (Last word was 3 loose leaf binders to contain it all)
