It has given a distorted view of what language is,
placing priority on rules rather than on functions of communication.
Language is not a math. (Is there such a thing a 'traditional grammar'?) Though grammar can help, in the same way maths can help in Biology or other sciences.
The grammar of English is constantly changing (oxymoronically). Though, one could argue that there is a universal grammar, as was thought in the Baroque and Classical eras, more esp. with music. Form played an important role. Yet music at that period was never without its 'variations on a theme' to hint at the variegated nature of communication, in the same way that grammar rules are never without their 'exceptions'.
If you ask what are the advantages of having grammar rules I'd have to say
they serve, in second language teaching, to explain, in a more simplified manner,
the tendencies and trends of the language one is teaching.
Therein lies the danger, if one is a dogmatic grammarian-like teacher, that rules
come before the language.
Perhaps every rule is there to be broken, but only once you've mastered all the rules--
something which was thought only to be done by the native speaker...
But in the small world we live in, where English is going global, who knows from where the influence may come next.
Don't let 'Grammar' get you down! Say it like you mean, mean it like you feel!
Structured English can be hard for a person to learn if English is their second language. There are also so many rules to learn, it can be confusing for anyone.
Structured English borrows from structured programming; it uses logical constructions and imperative sentences designed to carry out instructions for action.Decisions are made through IF,THEN,ELSE and SO statements.

Technically, "Changement" is a French word, which is widely used in the area of dance. In an English speaking environment, it's about rapid and structured change. But it is not haphazard change. It is very practiced and purposeful.
Structured poetry is a type of poetry that contains repeating patterns of elements such as stanza length, rhyme, and meter.
English is a language used by business. It also has many great authors that have written in English from Shakespeare to Mark Twain. Learning English in England will give you a British accent. So the only disadvantage is if you wanted a job on American television, where they want an American midwest accent.
It is not structured

Hi there i was searching for disadvantages of structured English and came across your question, I have some advantages noted already, so thought I would shareAdvantages:Structured English is designed to be easy enough for a user who knows nothing about computer programming to be able to understand the steps involved in performing the various processes, yet the structure of the descriptions make it easy to eventually convert to a programming language.Using Structured English also means not having to worry about initialising variables, opening and closing files, or finding related records in separate files. These more technical details are left to later in the design stage.Structured English and Logic Modelling are used in conjunction with Data Flow Diagrams and other models (E-R) to provide us with an unambiguous and thorough explanation of the system specifications.Structured English is intended to be used as a communication technique for analysts and users. Analysts and programmers have their own communication technique, pseudocode, which is really an extension of the Structured English concepts except that it resembles a programming language more than spoken English.
Structured English is a subset of English language used to represent program logic in a clear and structured manner, while pseudo code is a high-level description of an algorithm that uses a mixture of natural language and programming language syntax. Pseudo code is closer to actual programming language syntax compared to structured English, which is more focused on readability and understanding by non-programmers.
