well i guess the present social evil is Caste System....everyone thinks that the government has passed a rule to abolish caste system but it is still present in our society today.....and though poverty is not a social evil it is still a major problem for India.

An evil is always there in a society, there could hardly be any community which could be careful as most virtuous.
