No, Nancy Drew is a made up character in a book series written by Carolene Keene. (Interesting fact: Carolene Keene's name is actually Mildred W. Benson.) (: Samtacular™
Some of the books were written by the same author from Nancy Drew. But both series have been written by a whole slew of different Ghost Writers, meaning they write in the series under the same Pen-name as the original author.

well first of all, both the Hardy Boys and the Nancy Drew series were written by the same PEOPLE. Frank W Dixon and Carolyn Keene are pseudonym. The books are written by the Stratemeyer Syndicate.
The original author of the Nancy Drew series also wrote the Hardy Boys mystery series under the name Franklin W. Dixon. Caroline Keene was simply a pen name. After the original author passed away, the series were continued by his daughter.

No. Nancy Drew, created by Edward Stratmeyer, is the main human character of the Nancy Drew books. Since Stratmeyer's death, various authors under the direction of his granddaughter have written under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. (The same goes for the Hardy Boys written by those under the name Franklin W. Dixon.) Anyway, she is a teen sleuth, or detective. The books are still published today - over 75 years later. These books are incredible. I am a huge Nancy Drew fan and have been for what seems like forever. TV shows (now long cancelled) as well a a couple movies have been made. The only movie in this decade (or two) was in theaters last year and involved a fake ghost. I DO NOT recommend this movie for it is all wrong and insulting to any tru Nancy Drew fan.exactatacaly man
