There are any number of meanings to "coils", depending on the context.
In a car or many other electrical contexts, it generally means a transformer, usually to increase voltage. In a car, this is used to fire the spark plugs. A special variety of this is the Tesla coil, which can be used for various showy purposes.
In a refrigerator or air conditioner, or other heat exchange context, this will generally mean the condenser coils, which carry the coolant so that it can be cooled after being condensed, and thus heated. This is essentially a radiator.
A coil of wire might also be used to create an electro-magnet, for running an electric motor or other purposes.
In other cases, like mattresses, they could simply be springs.
Presumably there are meanings in cellular Biology, chemistry, animal biology, hair dressing, and thousands of other fields.
Did coil
The word coil already is a noun, as in "a coil of rope."
A coil of wires wrapped around a core is an electromagnet.
An electromagnet is a magnet caused by electricity.
Trouble code P0354 means:Ignition coil D primary/secondary circuit malfunction
Not necessarily. It means that is the component being effected. It may mean the coil is bad. The coil should be tested. Not necessarily. It means that is the component being effected. It may mean the coil is bad. The coil should be tested.
The COIL HAS A POSITIVE AND A NEGATIVE TERMINAL. If you look at the top of the coil, it is generally marked + and - on the top.
When the coil spring is completely compressed and the coils are touching
You mean ac coil, the secondary coil, of a transformer? Then for the purpose of rectification, that is , for changing ac into dc, a diode is connected in series with the secondary coil of the transformer.
you mean a coil pack, the service manuals at autozon etc , have good descriptions in them on how to OHM out a coil pack.
careful if you do not know never turn engine over next to coil be advised
If you mean the ignition coil, then I believe its located under the engine flywheel.
Different Kinds of "Coils"It depends on what you mean by "coil." There are several different kinds of coils.IF you mean the "Ignition Coil," then the answer is no, the ignition coil is not inside the alternator. On the other hand, all alternators, generators, electric motors, etc., do have coils of wire inside, but those coils are generally referred to as "windings."
To flatten out and expand a coil of wire, rope etc.
I'm not totally sure what your talking about, but I think you may mean the upper coil spring mount aka the coil bucket.
Do you mean this? Left coil pack 1----4 right coil pack 7----8 6----5 3----2
I'm assuming you mean an ignition coil. If that is correct, an improperly functioning ignition coil will cause the engine to have a misfire, and could lead to severe engine damage if not corrected expeditiously.
