* When someone 'downs themselves' they are not happy with either the way they look or who they are. They may say 'I hate my nose; it's too big' or 'I'm too fat and I hate my body.' People such as this are often insecure; lack confidence and will often stay in the shadows at a function such as a party. If the person is smart they will ask a friend or family member how they can start to up-grade themselves. One way is to get a new hairstyle (men/women) if a woman get a cosmetician to teach you how to apply make-up to make the best of what you have and get a few new clothes and ask for help from a good store as to what would look the best to suit your physical shape and if there are things about your body that you don't like then take up swimming; jog; join a gym and get into shape. The majority of people (not including those that have Liposuction or face or body tucks) come in all different shapes and sizes, but what matters the most is the person's personality.

How do you deal with constantly being let down by family?

First of all you have to take care of yourself. I am not sure what you mean exactly or how they have let you down, but may be that you should give yourself and them space from asking/doing anything for each other and they may realize they have let you down if you are not around. You could tell them they have let you down. Not in an angry way but calmly just so they know and can then have time to think about it.

What does it mean to be above it all?
