It can be used in conjunction with other words, as in: shop-a-holic In this instance, the best similar word might be "addict", as that's basically what it means when used in alcoholic, workaholic, etc. It is, however, the name of an online MMPORG computer game, and the name of a small town in Slovakia :-)

It depends on what type of worker you are. If your boss is lazy and you are a workaholic that it should work out fine (unless you will get frustrated by the fact that you're doing most of the work). If you are lazy and your boss is a workaholic then you are in trouble because he won't appreciate you slacking off.
