Daniel does not find it interesting to go to parties with his cousins and their friends anymore. He wants to explore more of Ecuador, but his aunt, Carolina, feels too responsible for him. She lets him go when he goes on organized tours. His cousin, Fernando accompanies him sometimes for the fun/thrilling activities. Ecuador has many different climates in each geographic zone. He takes a lot of awfully interesting photos but none of them are like the eyes of Carmen. He tries to find Carmen on different plantations collecting flowers, but she is very hard to find. He goes to the house of his parents and his friends/cousins think he is weird for not passing time with all his friends. Maria Fernanda, his girlfriend, is very mad at him and will not return his phone calls. He does not care that much. Isabel decides to give him the silent treatment. She is so dramatic and this makes him mad because they live in the same house. He feels bad until the end of the day when it all gets better. His uncle has great news. They will all be going on a tour of Galapagos, an enchanted island, for five days. It is one of the best opportunities of his life and his aunt says it is worth visiting more than once.
