mrs.bedlow (who likes lyddie) gives her money to buy new clothes and helps her get a job at the factory. the factory is owned by concord corporation. lyddie had 3 roommates at the boarding house who all work at the same factory. there names where amelia, prudence, betsy.

Lyddie is going to Lowell Massachusetts to be a mills girl but on the way she meets some people. At an inn she worked for the innkeeper but Lyddie did such a good job the inkeeper said to forget Lowell and work for her.Another time was when Lyddie's caradge got stuck and she lifted the caradge with a rock and gentlemen.
