There are painters and graphic artists who work hard to render scenes in a photographic manner. In the 1850's a school of artists in France called themselves Realists. They probably started as a result of the then-new medium of Photography. Some of their paintings are so photographically realistic you feel that you could reach in and touch something. An outstanding example is a famous painting called After The Hunt by the American artist William M. Harnett. He worked in a style called "trompe l'oeil" (French for "fool the eye").
