Digments are indeterminate and incremental sections of a "thing" and usually taken in the context of that thing having no simple definition for those incremental sections. Example of digments are:

A clock face (usually) has 60 digments (being the indications of each minute)

A volume control has (usually) 10 digments (quiet to loud)

A postage stamp has many digments (when taken as part of a sheet)

A new car tax disc has hundreds of digments

Hopefully that should give some idea of what a digment actually is.

p.s. the last two examples are incredibly satisfying when you are removing the product from the surrounding paper, and tearing through the digments ... it's even more fun than popping bubble wrap!
