It is supposed to sum up the rest of the paper.
First off, when starting a paper or paragraph, you want to never start it out like this. "This paragraph is about ..................." That is just improper english. when concluding a paper or paragraph, never do this "And that is why ............................" Again, it is just not proper to do that. If youur starting a story or autobiography, you might consider having a hook sentence. That is a sentence that grabs peoples attention so they'll keep reading.
There must be at least 3-5 sentences in the introduction paragraph. But for a philosophy paper of 2-4 pages, it need not be more than 2 or 3 sentences.
The closest I could find was the book On the Road, which was written on a 120 foot scroll of paper.
It would depend on what you included in your introductory paragraph and the body of your paper.
