There are no scheduled sequels for this film. However, I feel a sequel, showing Solara's way back home would be a great idea. This is why: Solara's name means "light" and the qoute Eli uses "the light in the dark" could mean Solara has potential to change things in her world. When she follows him, saying "I hate it here" he says, "then change it." Also, she is the sole Survivor of the car rolling over after she has been taken back by Redridge, so it seems the protection given to Eli has now transferred to her. Also, the BOOK is still in her home "town" and the only person who can read it is her blind mother, Claudia, giving great meaning to the phrase, "the meek shall inherit the earth" Reading posts from others, no one believes Solara can make it home since she was nearly raped. But the protection given to Eli may now be given to Solara. Showing her trials and tribulations on her way home would be an extension of the healing of the world, and letting her return home to her mother, and becoming leaders of the new towns would also follow the line of healing. The song Eli listens to asks, "How can we heal a broken heart?"

It is unknown yet unlikly for a third movie based off joshua to be made, since DreamWorks' 2D department was shutdown due to the box-office failure of Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. Unless it's computer animated or a diffrent story is made with CGI.

No, the script was written by Gary Whitta.

There is a book titled The Book of Eli (Sam Moffie). However, it is not related to the movie by the same name.
