1) a plaster (plastron)

2) a jacket (you have to also find out which hand you will use in order to get the right jacket)

3) a glove (for the hand that holds your weapon)

4) a weapon (it depends which one you choose, there are sabers, epee's and foils)

it depends on where you live and what weapon you use as to what equipment is required to fence tourniments. most cominly you will need a mask, a jacket, a glove and a plastrons (half of a vest that goes under jacket). as well as these some thing that may be manditory are chest protectors and breches

It depends on what weapon you're fencing, and whether you're fencing dry or electrics. Typically when fencing dry, you wear a jacket, mask, glove, chest protector, underarm protector, and knickers, for any weapon. When fencing electrics, as you would in a tournament, you would add to that a body cord and a lame for foil and saber, or just a body cord for epee. The saber lame has full sleeves, while the foil lame is like a vest. In saber, you also have an electric mask and mask clip.

Well it depends on which sword you practice. There is foil, sabre, and epee. The first few step of dressing for all the types are the same. First you have the knickers(fencing pants), fencing socks, and your fencing sneakers. Then you put on the plastic chest protector, the underarm protecter, and then the jacket. Now you stop here if you are an epeeist. If you are a saberist or foilist, you should put on your electric cord before your jacket, and then put on your lamay. Now, put on your glove. Then you should attach one end of the cord to your sword through your glove. Now you stop here if you are a foilist. If you are a saberist, you go on to put on your mask cord.
