The Estrucains, or Etruscans, were an ancient civilization that thrived in what is now modern-day Tuscany, Italy, from around the 8th century BCE until the Roman conquest in the 3rd century BCE. They are known for their advanced culture, art, and architecture, as well as their unique language, which remains only partially understood. The Etruscans played a significant role in the early development of Roman society, influencing Roman religion, governance, and engineering. Their legacy includes impressive burial practices and the construction of city-states, many of which laid the groundwork for future Roman settlements.
