His name is unknown. His alias on Warcraft 3 was Eul.
2003- "Eul" developed the first version of Defense of the Ancients. When Frozen Throne came out Eul did not make any updates and so Steve Feak "Guinsoo" took the lead and remade the scenario into DotA-Allstars. Steve "Pendragon" Mesco created the DotA-Allstars website. After version 6.01 Guinsoo handed Icefrog the controls and backed out.

Ah, well my friend, the oldest version of Dota is the original Defense of the Ancients (DotA) mod for Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos. It was created by a talented modder named Eul back in 2003. This mod laid the foundation for the popular Dota 2 game we know today, filled with happy little heroes and exciting battles.
The original map variant was created by Eul, but he did not update the map. Steve "Guinsoo" Feak, would later create a version and update the map for 2 years, then handed the project off to Icefrog who has been working on Dota since 2005.
