I've never personally heard of a horse having a severe allergic reaction to carrots. I suppose it might be possible, but in this case it would affect the horse in question all the time, whether or not she was in gestation. Your pregnant mare will probably LOVE the extra attention if you spoil her rotten - carrots certainly won't hurt her.
