If the headlamps on your 1992 Volvo 940GL don't turn off, it could be a relay issue, but it's also worth checking the headlight switch and wiring. A stuck relay might cause the lights to remain on, but it's also possible that a short circuit or a malfunction in the switch itself is to blame. Inspecting the headlight relay and the associated wiring can help determine the root cause. If the relay appears to be functioning correctly, further investigation into the switch and wiring is recommended.

I had the same problem and it was the air flow meter - - expensive to change but certainly cured the problem We have a 1995 940, which had a similar fault, in the end we had to change the fuel relay, MAF (air flow) sensor and fuel pump :( parts from Volvo were VERY pricey but we were able to get them quite reasonably from dismantlers
There is no relay for the horn!
how locate glow plug relay on 2008 Volvo diesel 2.0D
The fuse/relay box is under the hood on the passengers side. The box is located between the battery and the firewall. I recently had to replace the same relay after my headlamps stop working on low beam. This relay is located in the number 11 slot. I understand this is a common problem on the Buick Lacrosse. Hope this helps.
To determine if a relay in a 1989 Volvo 740 GL is bad, you can perform a few checks. First, listen for clicking sounds when the relay is activated; no sound may indicate a problem. Additionally, test the relay with a multimeter for continuity or swap it with a known good relay to see if the issue resolves. Lastly, inspect for any signs of physical damage, corrosion, or burnt contacts.
Flasher relay is built into the flasher switch..
