If you will carefully press in on the backside of the material of the front seat back following a straight line downward from the headrest post you will come to a tab at the end of the post. Raise the headrest to the upmost position, press with your thumb on the material and against the tab while putting just a small amount of upward pressure on the headrest and the tab will release the post. You have to do this to both posts of the headrests to remove them from the front seats. I have an 89 240 and the headrests do come off, as do all 240 wagons.
One can find a wiring diagram for a Volvo 245 at Turbo Bricks. These can also be found at Volvo Club and at Volvo Tips.
The vents on the hood of a 1988 Volvo 245, located in front of the windshield, serve to enhance airflow and improve ventilation within the engine compartment. They help dissipate heat generated by the engine and allow for better air circulation, which can contribute to more efficient engine performance. Additionally, these vents can help reduce wind noise and improve aerodynamics by directing airflow over the vehicle.
It is white, rectangular and has 6 prongs. To access it, remove knee bolster from the passenger footwell. Should be just above where the carpet stops.

All Volvo 240 models have four cylinder engines. The four in 240 indicates it is a four cylinder, just like the Volvo 260 is a six cylinder. The last number in the model designation indicates the number of doors. A 242 is a two-door. A 244 is a four-door sedan, and a 245 is a station wagon (estate).

Volvo 240 series from the 80's. Everything on them is built ruggedly, and they're fun to drive. I have a 1982 245 wagon with 250K+ miles on it, and it's my daily driver.
Sometime in the 1980's Volvo dropped the old numbering sequence of 242, 244, 245 to delineate their 200 series cars and went to calling them all 240's. The DL and GL are trim and equipment levels with the DL being the lower or less expensive. The old numbers meant first, the series number. Second is the number of engine cylinders and the third was the number of doors the car had. A 245 is a 200series car, with a 4 cylinder engine and 5 doors is a station wagon.

On a 1977 Volvo 245, the fuel pump is typically located under the vehicle, near the fuel tank. It is mounted on the chassis, close to the rear axle. You may need to access it from underneath the car, as it's not located in the engine bay. Always ensure the vehicle is securely supported before attempting to work underneath it.
