Spoke to BMW engineer who said a good pull on release lever at same time as helper pushes down over headlamps may free a stiff bonnet or hood catch was successful

You will find the ICM directly below the coils. Just remove the coils and you will be able to remove it. This is on a 1990 Buick Century V6 3300 engine. If you have a different engine I cannot confirm the location.

The Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) is located at the rear of the engine, in the top center of the block. You have to remove the intake manifold to access it .... it is directly behind the knock sensors at the back of the engine.

back of engine right below intake manifold, lay under car, look directly up (center) on the back of the motor, there is 1 wire running to that, remove that wire, unscrew the lead (phillips) and use a 1" socket to remove the sensor back of engine right below intake manifold, lay under car, look directly up (center) on the back of the motor, there is 1 wire running to that, remove that wire, unscrew the lead (phillips) and use a 1" socket to remove the sensor
While engine is running remove the fuel pump fuse. Engine will run out of fuel when pressure drops.
