If the speedo stops also, it is the speed sensor. If just the odometer, take it to a speedo shop.
There are several things that can cause your speedometer not to work. Begin by connecting a new speedometer cable. Make sure the speed sensor is operating properly.
Nissan is known 4 being cheap and dirty. so your car is 2. so trade it in 4 a Cadillac. or a ferrari like me
To cause a speedo to jump around, you might use a combination of mechanical movement and external forces. For example, placing the speedo on a vibrating surface or using a small motor to create rapid oscillations could make it bounce. Additionally, if the speedo is filled with air or liquid, fluctuations in pressure could cause it to move erratically. Overall, adding an element of motion or vibration is key to achieving this effect.
i dont know if the fiesta mk6 speedo is electric or mechanical, but if were mechanical, it would either be a bad speedo cable, a bad speedo, or a bad gearbox. if it were electrical, i would think that again it could be the speedo, or it could be the wiring, the sensor, or a computer if there is one
Its your carborator/or manifold going to the carb air will cause this blocked fuel fitter/line,willalso cause this.
Some posts seem to point to the battery as the cause of the problem. Get it checked as this is a low cost fix. Others seem to blame the speed sensor.
if the cluster still lights up but the speedo still inop possible cause is the speed sensor in the transmition
check all of your fuses all you have to do is do an ohm test probe one side and the other side you dont even have to take them out
speed cable or speed sensor
If it's a cable driven speedo setup, the speed sensor head in the transmission, the gauge in the dash, or the cable connecting the two could be broken/breaking. If it's an electrical speedo, then maybe it's just a loose wire connection somewhere.
dirt in the speed snsor bad speedo head in the dash
