same engine just a production variation code
Answer: Saab H series engines, starting in 1981 with the B201, and ending with the B205/235, in use through 2009, were designed and built by Saab in Sweden. They are a redesign of the Saab B engine (1972), which was based on a Triumph engine (1964).Saab's 4-cylinder engines are built by Saab in Sodertalje, Sweden.
The engine is basically the same B204, B234. E, I, L or R only differ in type off crankshaft pistons and rods, however if you want to interchange you'll have to use the oil sump and timing chain coveras well as all of the loose parts (oil pump, AC compressor, alternator, etc.) of the old engine. Make sure u change the head gasket and bolts!! Just built a Saab 9000 B234L engine into a '99 9-3, upgraded it with a TD04Hl-15t turbo, viggen IC and software to accommodate 290Hp it's been a nerve wrecking job but i can assure you definitely worthwhile. anything up to 350 chev engines any engine can be swapped into any car but the more crazy the swap, the more money is involved. Some known swaps 13b turbo rotary...rx7 f20c ...Honda s2000 ls1 Chevy small block ford small block v8 I have even heard of Saab b234's also because they can take a lot of turbo boost and the ecu code is very easy to work with The best bet though is to turbo or supercharge your current 1.8l engine. It is a great engine with low compression, forged internals and can take boost reliably. In fact several Japanese Mazdas have the same engine with turbocharging from the factory. It would be wise to upgrade the clutch if turbocharging to be able to take all the torque.

The Kubota oil filter part number 70000-3294 is commonly replaced by the Baldwin B234, Fleetguard LF3345, or Wix 51348. These alternatives provide similar specifications and can be used in various Kubota engines. However, it's always recommended to check compatibility with your specific engine model before making a replacement.
