anything up to 350 chev engines
any engine can be swapped into any car but the more crazy the swap, the more money is involved.
Some known swaps
13b turbo rotary...rx7
f20c ...Honda S2000
ls1 Chevy small block
Ford small block v8
I have even heard of Saab b234's also because they can take a lot of turbo boost and the ecu code is very easy to work with
The best bet though is to turbo or supercharge your current 1.8l engine. It is a great engine with low compression, forged internals and can take boost reliably. In fact several Japanese Mazdas have the same engine with turbocharging from the factory.
It would be wise to upgrade the clutch if turbocharging to be able to take all the torque.

The 1995 Mazda MX-3 is compatible with several engine options, primarily from the Mazda family. Common swaps include the Mazda BP engine, a 1.8L four-cylinder found in the MX-6 and Protegé, and the KL series 2.5L V6 engine from the Mazda Millenia and 626. Additionally, some enthusiasts have successfully swapped in engines from other Mazda models, such as the 2.0L FS engine. Always consider compatibility with the transmission and necessary modifications when planning an engine swap.

The 1995 Mazda Miata typically uses a 12-volt lead-acid car battery. This standard voltage is common for most vehicles and is sufficient to power the car's electrical systems and start the engine. Always check the specific battery specifications for your vehicle to ensure compatibility.
To replace the alternator on a 1995 Mazda Miata, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner, then unbolt the alternator from the engine. Disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator, install the new alternator, reconnect the electrical connections, and reattach the serpentine belt. Finally, reconnect the battery cable and start the engine to test the new alternator.
In a 1995 Mazda Miata, the headlight relay is located in the engine compartment fuse box. To find it, open the hood and look for the fuse box near the driver's side of the engine bay. The relay is typically labeled, so refer to the diagram on the fuse box cover for its specific position. If you're having trouble, you may also check the owner's manual for detailed information.

Additionally, the jack is typically secured in place with a retaining strap or bracket. Make sure to check for any additional tools that may be stored alongside it.
