No you can not over ride the shift interlock. You can manually over ride it, but you will have to do it again every time the vehicle gets stuck in park. There is a recall on that specific part. I suggest going to your local dealership and having them fix it once and for all.
the red warning light will come on. this is the same light that comes on in blue when engine is started.
If you have the Ford shifter, it attaches to the shifter. If you have a Hurst shifter, you have to attach it to the floor of the car because is all the way over and up on a Hurst, instead of all the way over and down like the Ford shifter.

Good ? but I have never in 23 years had to adjust the shifter.I have removed mine when doing a new clutch and so forth over the years and do not know of a adjusment that is even possible. The only choice I would know of is buy a new shifter from mazda.Check with local dealer to see what you get if you buy it.It has several components that the shifter works in conjunction with it.

The layer of the Earth that is composed of large plates that interlock and move over time is the lithosphere. These plates float on the semi-fluid asthenosphere beneath them and interact at plate boundaries, leading to phenomena such as earthquakes and volcanic activity.
On my 2000 expedition it was a loose bolt. this bolt aligns the gear shifter with the transmission position. it is located under the dash, just follow the column, it will be on top of the column with a torx bolt (i believe it was a torx) anyways if you jiggle the gear shifter while looking up you will see where they connect together with a bracket with the culprit bolt. Note, make sure you use some locktite or you will have the same problem over and over again. sorry if this seems a little vage, it's late and just seen this question ;)
Yes. You will also need to bring over the shifter, or purchase an aftermarket shifter for you application.
