Change battery in 2007 passat key fob?

1. Press and hold the button to release the 'hidden' key
2. Remove the 'hidden' key from the housing
3. Turn the key fob over and press on the opposite side to the release button to slide the sliver part across.. remove.
4. You should now be able to pry apart the side with the VW badge on, allowing access to the battery.

If your code is lost you will have to reprogram the fob. On the 2006 Passat, maybe the same on the 2007, you must pry the cover off of the manual key slot. Observe from the bottom there is a slot. Place the key in the slot, at the same time pry from the bottom and the whole cap will come off revealing the keyhole. With a good fob put power to the car but do not start the engine. With a manual key, lock the door. Now press the fob you are trying to train twice. It should take the code.

Unlock the door, remove the good fob and test the new fob. It should work.,
