there is a under the transmission is a pan with a drain plug and a fill plug in it, you will need a pump to get the fuild in because the fill plug is high up on the pan (hand soap pump will work but may take sometime) oh! by the way only add the same atf that it is labeled on the pan the code is as follows for that yr/make Orange sticker: Dexron III
Yellow sticker: Texaco ETL 7045E
Green sticker: Texaco ETL 8072B
Blue sticker: Esso 71141LT do not mix or add a fluid other then the one in the pan and You may want to get!!! a Seal for the upper Plug (fill plug) because there is a very good chance it will brake apart from (dry root) when you take out the plug if you want to change the fluid you will need to take out the second pan there are two and you will need two Gaskets and two Seals for the Drain and Fill Plug and is it's a good idea to change filter too at this point
The dipstick is found under the hood where the motor is.
Manual and auto have no dipstick
Im trying to swap the starter on a 1999 BMW 328i
A 2008 328i BMW transmission does not have an oil filter. Only motor oil casings have filters in them. The 2008 328i does have a transmission filter but not a transmission oil filter.
there is none
There is none. E46's were updated in 2001 and 2003.
Where is the transmission fluid dipstick located on 1999 BMW 323 auto
BMW uses there own special fluid and you have to contact a dealership to get it.
There is no container. BMW transmissions are "lifetime fill" meaning that they are not supposed to need fluid added. You can add fluid directly into the transmission through the fill plug.
Sorry I do not replace sparkplugs.Take your 1999 BMW to a garage, they will do it for you.
is the brake fluid
