There is a special tool you could buy somewhere online or at your local dealer. Basically turn your piston clockwise and you will compress it, but to turn it you need that special tool, or try needle nose pliers and alot of elbow grease
You can use a large C-Clamp to compress the caliper piston.
To compress the rear brake caliper piston on a 2003 Acura MDX, you need to first ensure the brake fluid reservoir is capped to prevent overflow. Use a caliper tool or a C-clamp to gently push the piston back into the caliper housing. Make sure to apply even pressure and check that the brake pads are properly aligned as you compress the piston. Once fully compressed, you can reassemble the caliper and install it back onto the vehicle.
with a C clam , make sure the you use sameting to protec the piston
some model's that have the parking brake Incorporated into the rear caliper, you must compress and turn the piston until the proper clearance is obtained.
To change the brake pads on a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the wheel. Next, remove the caliper bolts and carefully slide the caliper off the rotor. Replace the old brake pads with new ones, ensuring they are properly aligned, and compress the caliper piston if necessary. Finally, reattach the caliper, secure the bolts, and reinstall the wheel before lowering the vehicle.
To replace the rear brake pads on a 2003 Lexus SC430, first, lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheels. Then, locate the brake caliper, remove the caliper bolts, and slide the caliper off the rotor. Replace the old brake pads with new ones, ensuring they are properly aligned, and compress the caliper piston to accommodate the new pads. Finally, reattach the caliper, secure the bolts, and reassemble the wheel before lowering the vehicle.
To change the brake pads on a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer, first, ensure the vehicle is safely elevated and supported on jack stands. Remove the wheel and tire to access the brake assembly, then unbolt the caliper and slide it off the rotor. Replace the old pads with new ones, ensuring they are properly seated, and compress the caliper piston if necessary. Finally, reattach the caliper, put the wheel back on, and lower the vehicle before testing the brakes.
To remove the back brakes on a 2003 Kia Spectra, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the rear wheel. Next, remove the caliper bolts with a socket wrench and detach the caliper from the rotor, supporting it with a bungee cord or similar to avoid stress on the brake line. Then, take off the brake pads and remove the caliper bracket if needed, before sliding off the rotor. Always ensure to compress the caliper piston if you're replacing the pads and check for any wear or damage before reassembly.
To replace the front brake pads on a 2003 Honda Civic Si, first, safely lift the car and remove the front wheels. Then, remove the caliper by unscrewing the bolts and slide it off the rotor. Replace the old brake pads with new ones, ensuring they are properly seated, and compress the caliper piston if necessary. Finally, reattach the caliper, replace the wheel, and lower the car before testing the brakes to ensure proper function.
how do you change the brake pads on a 2003 S10 BLAZER To change the front pads you need to jack up blazer and pull off wheel.the brake caliper is held on by two hex head bolts.Remove these and gently pry the caliper up off the rotor. You will need a C- clamp to compress the piston back into the caliper ,so when you install the new pads ,the caliper will fit back over the rotor. put the two hex bolts back in ,and your done.
Using a C-clamp and a piece of plywood to protect the piston. Also, open the bleeder nut when you start clamping down, to let out the pressure. Make sure you have some way to collect the fluid that comes out, it will make an amazingly large mess on the ground and be extremely difficult to clean up.
turn the centre clockwise while applying pressure at the same time, their is a tool for doing this but I just use an old socket which I welded two peices of 6mm bar to the correct width apart so that they locate into the two small recesses in the centre of the caliper, you can then use an extension on your rachet to turn the piston of the calliper while pushing in on it at the same time.
