As this belt no longer operates a fan, they are called serpentine or auxiliary drive belts. Anyhoo, if the old one is still there, make a note of where it goes. Otherwise look it up under 'images' on Google. (But to be honest, it is rather self-explanatory when one has a belt in one's hand and is looking at where it goes.) All one needs is a 15mm combination spanner and some form of extending this, as leverage is very important here. Firstly, support the car safely and remove the front-rhs wheel. Behind the suspension is a section of plastic cover, which needs to be un-clipped and removed. Behind this one shall see the pulley wheels over which the belt travels. The tensioner-pulley (The uppermost small pulley-wheel) is almost hidden behind the front rail (Quelle surprise!) The ring-end of the spanner fits over the nut on this and once turned, allows the drivebelt to be slid over the air-con (or crankshaft, if no air-con) pulley-wheel. Beware of skinned knuckles when doing this, as this car generally provides them aplenty! So much for computer aided design! Get someone else to change the cam-belt if you find this one difficult, as it is expensive for a reason...! Bon Chance.
replace fan belt on citron dispatch 02 hdi
Just replaced the fan belt on my citroen xsara. The problem I had was increasing the tension. I eventually sorted it by Loosening bolt on tensioner with a T45 TRX key. The tensioner can now slide up/down to increase/decrease tension. When new fan belt is on correctly, to get a nice tight belt rotate large nut on tensioner with a socket. I used an adjustable pipe wrench as i did not have a socket big enough.Do not have a diagram for fan belt but will try to explain. 3 pulleys and 1 tensioner. Place belt over near side pulley and rear pulley.Next from bottom of near pulley run the belt over top of the tensioner. The belt goes around the back of the tensioner and comes forward towards you around the third pulley. That's itNow tighten her up.Hope this makes since.
This is a known fault that can happen on early model picassos (before end 2002) and can be caused by a faulty ignition switch. See explanation here : http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/lofiversion/index.php?t9002.html And more detailed information in the following FAQ: http://www.citroenpicasso.org.uk/picasso/index.php?showtopic=8846&st=20
On a Citroen xsara Estate t-reg the cooling switch is located at the top near side of the radiator, usually a blue connector with a yellow ring around the switch
The fuse for the fan on a Citroën C4 Picasso is typically located in the fuse box under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. You can check the owner's manual for the exact location and fuse specification. Generally, it's labeled with a symbol indicating a cooling fan or similar function. Always ensure to replace it with a fuse of the same amperage.
There is no fan belt it is an electric fan. Are you referring to the serpentine belt?
pull the carpet from the footwell you will see the bottom of the blower pull the black wire off it will stop the fan dont try to put a switch in here as the current is to heavy you can use a relay with a neg trigger to activate fan from a remote switch
A serpentine belt is one belt that runs all engine accessories (i.e. power steering pump, ac compressor, water pump, AND fan). A fan belt runs the fan only.
The Villager has an electric fan and does not use a "fan belt".
