Each of the four doors had a 3.5" Phillips. The two under the back seat were 4". You need to remove the door panels to get to the speakers. Good instructions in the book by Hayes (I recommend this because there are several tricks to get to the hidden screws). Once door is completely disassembled you can access the speaker to remove and it is easy to simply cut away the foam and put a 4"coax in the same space. From the car there is no noticeable difference as you don't have to change the grills at all. Under the rear seat you can replace with 5.25" coax but it requires drilling new screw holes and using after market grills

In a 1995 Jaguar XJ6, the car stereo amplifier is typically located in the trunk, mounted on the left side behind the trim panel. To access it, you may need to remove the trunk liner or any covering that conceals the amp. If you're having trouble locating it, consulting the vehicle's service manual can provide specific instructions and diagrams.

To remove the door speakers on a 1988 Jaguar XJ6, start by carefully prying off the speaker grille or cover to access the screws holding the speaker in place. Use a screwdriver to remove these screws, then gently pull the speaker out of the door panel. Disconnect the wiring harness from the back of the speaker before fully removing it. Be cautious not to damage any surrounding trim or wiring during the process.
