Buy a used pump or repair kit on eBay. When you get it, you'll need to do the following:

open the trunk,

remove the CD player and bracket from the left side of the trunk

remove the hard plastic trim from around trunk opening and to the left of that. remove enough hard plastic that you can pull the hard molded carpeting away from the left side of the trunk.

directly under the antenna you'll find a brown foam block with wires and vacuum tubing going into it. gently remove the foam block, open it, and there you'll find the pump.

gently remove the 3 wiring connectors and 2 vacuum line connectors, and install them all on the new pump.

if you bought a repair kit then take the pump to your work bench and install the parts.

install the pump and all the trim parts back the way they were.

reprogram the pump to recognize your remote, if necessary.

What is a vacuum pump in terms of car central locking?

A vacuum pump in car central locking systems is a device that creates a vacuum to operate the door locks. It generates negative pressure, which is used to actuate vacuum-operated door lock actuators, allowing the locking and unlocking of doors. This system is often found in vehicles with central locking features, where the pump activates when the driver uses the key fob or manual switch. By using vacuum pressure, the system can provide a reliable and efficient means of controlling multiple locks simultaneously.
