I have 2 earlier 960's. The oxygen sensor - the lambda is situated on the catalytic converter, which is below the driver seat on a right hand drive car. It has a slight angle to it where it fits into the cat. To change it is quite straightforward.
There are a couple of photos on my own website: wwww.glennsmart.btinternet.co.uk
Just click on 'Volvo 960' in the drop down menu and then click on the button 'Go there!
If someone could please explain who to get to the oxygen sensor and explain where it is for sure?

how much will it cost to replace or repair rod for 1996 volvo 960?
THE O2 SENSOR IS LOCATED ON THE MANIFOLD. IT JUST UNSCREWS OFF THE SIDE OF IT, THEN YOU JUST UNPLUG IT.
yes definately. replace the o2 sensor, and you might want to also replace your pcv valve
where is the oxygem sensor on 1996 Mitsubishi mirage
Need a special socket. They are located in the exaust manifold(s).
Mazda 626 frm 1996 doesn't have O2 sensors, have you ECU/PCM inspected, it might have a minor damage.
The 1996 Ford Taurus heated oxygen sensor can be found behind the dashboard on the passenger side of the passenger compartment. The oxygen sensor should be labeled as such.
The oxygen sensor bank 1 is located in the exhaust manifold. The oxygen sensor bank 2 on the 1996 BMW 328is is located in the head pipe.
The 1996 Volvo 850 GLT typically has two oxygen sensors: one located before the catalytic converter (upstream) and another after it (downstream). The upstream sensor monitors the air-fuel mixture, while the downstream sensor checks the efficiency of the catalytic converter. It's important to verify the specific configuration, as variations might occur in different models or engines.
Nope. The computer doesn't even look at the oxygen sensor until the oxygen sensor reaches operating temperature.
