To remove the engine from a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 190E, start by disconnecting the battery and draining the fluids. Remove the air intake, exhaust manifold, and any accessories like the alternator and power steering pump. Disconnect the wiring harness and any remaining hoses, then unbolt the engine mounts. Finally, use an engine hoist to lift the engine out of the engine bay carefully.

To distinguish between a Mercedes 190 and a 190E, check the model designation on the rear of the car. The 190E typically has a fuel-injected engine, while the base 190 often has a carbureted engine. Additionally, the 190E usually features more luxurious trim and options compared to the standard 190. You can also look for differences in the grille and headlights, as the 190E may have a slightly different design.
