DO WHAT? Nonsense! The flasher is built into the four way flasher switch. Depress to two little slots on both sides of the radio and the radio remove/pull handles will pop out. Move the radio out of your way a little, put your hand in the hole and feel upward. You will feel the back of the flasher switch. Simply push it forward and out it comes. No chance of doing any prying damage this way. Over 30 Volvo Dealer experience here.

To replace the emergency flasher on a 1999 Volvo S70, first, locate the flasher relay, which is typically found under the dashboard near the steering column. Disconnect the battery to ensure safety, then remove the old relay by pulling it straight out of its socket. Insert the new flasher relay into the socket, reconnect the battery, and test the emergency flashers to ensure they are functioning properly.
